CAPTAIN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Our “Captain Leadership Program (CLP)“is a captain's armband system that caters to children of mixed ability from the age of 3 years old. Children can move up the “football ladder” by completing a designated amount of time and more importantly, displaying the necessary competance and attitude to move up to the next “rung” of the ladder. 

In our CLP, each “rung” is represented by a personality trait that we believe is fundamental to the “heart of a lion” (our symbol) and achieving that well-rounded football player. 

Black Captain's Armband- Leadership 

This teammate has mastered the fundamentals of football and is able to adapt to numerous situations on the field. They are able to think independently, but use that knowledge to help the team and express ideas in a positive manner. 

  

Red Captain's Armband - Power 

This teammate has mastered the fundamentals of football, being able to dribble, pass and shoot at speed, but is still learning to adapt in a game situation. They are developing their thought processes in terms of positioning and choice making. They are displaying the initial signs of leadership by being brave and showing the maturity of a true captain. 

  

Blue Captain's Armband- Bravery 

This teammate has started to express themselves with confidence and is able to dribble, pass and shoot in a timely manner. They have positive interactions with their teammates and offer encouragement when needed. 

  

Green Captain's Armband- Determination 

This teammate perseveres when new challenges are put in front of them. They never give up and show a great role model for their teammates. 

  

Yellow Captain's Armband- Control 

This teammate has started to control the ball while dribbling in various directions and shooting and passing with greater accuracy. They also have control of their emotions and can express themselves in a positive manner.
